Bridge to the clouds

We left Sevilla yesterday, but not after a little scare. In the morning I walked over to the indoor parking garage to get our car. I took the elevator to  level 4 where we parked. It was a small garage. Each level has only 12 cars. So when I did not see mine, a shock jolted through me. This couldn’t be happening. I absolutely knew it was on level 4. But to appease my grasp at still thinking everything was okay, I searched the 4 other levels, twice! I walked down to the entry level to speak with the attendant. I was imagining what I was going to say to him and if my vocabulary was good enough. Then I noticed that there we levels below the entrance. Oh My God! They had 5 levels below, also numbered 1-5. Why would a garage have two sets of 1-5 levels? Once again, travel emergency averted.

Ronda is a beautiful old town built on top of a mountain. It is connected by a bridge built in 1793 that is called Nuevo Puente (New Bridge). Our Airbnb rental is located in the perfect part of town, walking distance from everything. It is really cozy and the host left us a bottle of wine, a cheese plate and some other snacks. He is definitely the nicest host we have ever had. Most don’t greet you and some even unlock the door remotely from some other city or country. The host here lives 3 minutes away and he wanted to take selfies with us and was just really kind. It does make a difference on how we feel about the place. Tomorrow, we are off to Málaga.

Once again looks beautiful. And once again reminds me how sweet and kind and friendly the people of Spain always seem to be.

They are very kind, just like the Portuguese people. We have decided that the Spanish can’t cook very well. We have been super disappointed by the food here.
