A few hours in Barcelona

What would a travel day be without a driving misadventure? We had a 9:10am flight from Málaga to Barcelona. We were in Granada, an hour and half away. That meant we had to get up early. The drive was miserable. Rained the entire way and it was in the dark on a highway with no lights. Our time prediction was off because we were having to drive much slower. We still had to fill up the gas tank and drop the rental off.

Before our trip I thought I would be super prepared and input all of our destinations in my phone, just a click away from navigation. Of course Apple Maps used some weird mailing address for the Car rental and we ended up in some industrial dirt parking lot off the airport. We were a bit panicked.

Even if this rental agency was magically around the corner of this abandoned building, we still had to get the terminal, and we only had 30 minutes until boarding. We were lost. I gave up on Maps and just drove to the airport, figuring we would see signs for “auto rental returns.” We found plenty of signs and made it there with plenty of time. Sure enough, like most of this trip, another emergency adverted.

We arrived at our place in Barcelona and had another amazing host that greeted us. She was soooo nice and just started us off with a great feeling for these last 24 hours of our trip.

We had a few hours of strolling La Rambla and wondering through La Boqueria, their famous market. Here are some photos of our last hours in Spain.
